About the Event

The Rotary River Run will start at Riverfront Park in downtown Salem. Runners will cross the Willamette Slough at the Peter Courtney Minto Island Bridge and enter Minto-Brown Island Park. The route will take participants past open fields, wildlife refuge areas, and along the Willamette River before returning across the bridge to the finish line in Riverfront Park.

Funds raised from this event will be used to support Rotary’s local and international humanitarian projects that promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, support education, and grow local economies.

Entry Includes:

Race fee includes commemorative tech shirt, beautiful Finisher Medal, ChampionChip™ Timing, awards and prizes, post race refreshments, plus great end of summer competition. Entry also includes a measure of personal satisfaction in participating in an inaugural event, the proceeds of which support good works in the community and the world.

Chip Timing

All competitors will receive a Timing Chip in their race packet. You must wear the Chip on your ankle (per the instructions on the packet) if you want to receive your race time. Any participant who does not wear the Chip on their ankle/shoe throughout the race will not receive a finish result. Also, the Chip must be returned at the conclusion of the event or pay a $30.00 replacement fee (see Waiver). If you do not wish to be timed, feel free to give the Chip back to the volunteer when picking up your packet.

Unofficial race results will be posted at the finish line as the race is in progress. Official race results will be posted within 48 hours of the race.

Race Photography

Penrose Photography will provide finish line and course photography. Proofs will be on the website by Tuesday evening following the event (www.finishshots.com). To help capture the experience, you can order photos directly from Penrose Photography.
